Eddie Gene McGill

Funeral Service for Eddie Gene McGill, 74, of Dallas, Texas, will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Sunset Baptist Church, Mt. Pleasant. Interment will be Monday May 6, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at DFW National Cemetery, under the direction of Tumey Mortuary, Mt. Pleasant. He died April 20, 2024.

He was born April 4, 1950 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to Johnnie and Erma McGill.

Eddie was a 1968 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, Mt. Pleasant. He was a member of Sunset Baptist Church and a US Army Veteran.

He was preceded in death by his father Johnnie McGill, sister Elizabeth McGill.

He is survived by wife Ava McGill of Dallas, Texas; mother Erma McGill of Mt. Pleasant; children Eddie (Tanika) McGill of Houston, Texas, Christian McGill of Atlanta, GA, Labreshia McGill of Dallas, Texas, Sherita (Nachon) Benn of Arlington, Texas, Edwin (Nicole) Hill of DeKalb, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sisters Johnnie Powell, Helen Aikins, Teressie (Victor) Dudley, Frances Justice all of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, Johnnie Ford of Euless, Texas; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends.
