Charles H. “Bo” Howard

Funeral service for Charles H. “Bo” Howard, 82, of Mt. Pleasant, will be 11:00 A.M Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at Tumey Mortuary Chapel. Interment in Reynolds Cemetery, Daingerfield under the direction of Tumey Mortuary, Mt. Pleasant. He died February 15, 2024.

He was born March 12, 1941 in Morris County, Texas to Sarah and Casey Howard.

Charles was a 1959 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, Mt. Pleasant. He enlisted in the US Army having served in South Korea, Germany and Vietnam. He retired in 1979 as Sergeant First Class E7. He received his Business Administration Degree in 1982 from East Texas State University, Commerce and his MBA 1984. He retired as Vice President/Certified Bank Auditor from Guaranty Bank in December 2000. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Kawanis Club, served two terms on the Mt. Pleasant City Council and served on the Mt. Pleasant Zoning and Planning Committee where he cast the deciding vote allowing the Wal Mart Super Center to be built in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Michael Howard, brother Marvin Howard, sisters Shirley Ivory and Willie Jewel Raye. Charles is survived his wife of 62 years Marilyn Howard; daughter Melanie (Sherry) Howard and son Eric Howard; his grandchildren Candace Howard, Cherise Williams, Jeremiah Bridges; brothers John (Linda) Howard, William (Lillie) Howard; sister Linda Moton; sister-in-law Caroline Howard; daughter-in-law Thelma Howard and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
