Funeral Service for Gary Sanders, 69, Mt. Pleasant, will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 23, 2023 at St. Paul AME Church. Burial in Cortznes Cemetery under the direction of Tumey Mortuary. He died December 13, 2023.

He was born November 4, 1954 in Naples, Texas to Joe Yates and Ober Buford. He graduated in 1974 from Paul Pewitt HS and attended Texas College, Tyler. HewasamemberofSt.Paul A.M.E. Church. He worked for Pilgrim Pride and retired from US Steel Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Cora Jackson, Dianne Stephens.

Gary is survived by wife Kimberly Sanders of Mt. Pleasant; sons Dwayne Tarver of Dallas, Antwan Sanders, Gary Sanders, II both of Washington, Kerron Sanders of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren C’Sherica Shaw, Solay and Lauren Sanders; siblings Charles Buford of Dallas, Tony Sanders of Greenville, Kenneth Franklin, Vincent Yates, Anthony Yates, Joseph Yates of California; Bonnie (Bernard) Roper of Maryland, Kasterderia (Jerry) Peters of Naples, Linda (William) Boone of San Angelo, Lawauna Yates, Rachelle Diggs, Richelle Yates, Danish Yates of California; nieces, nephews; aunt Daisy Spence, cousins, relatives, friends.
