NTCC baseball announces spring schedule

The 2024 Northeast Texas Community College baseball schedule has been completed and includes a total of 55 games under head coach Andy Morgan. The schedule features 20 home dates (31 games) and 15 road dates (24 games). Of the 55 games, 30 are NJCAA Region 14 North Conference games, and 25 are non-conference games.

Tigers receive 21 slots on all-district team

On the heels of the team’s first winning season since 2012 and a season where two upsets denied them a playoff berth, the Mount Pleasant Tiger football team was recognized by the coaches of District 8-5A Div. II as 21 Tigers were named to the all-district team.

HB volleyball claims nine spots, one superlative award on all-district team

How does a team follow its most successful district finish? For Harts Bluff volleyball, the team picked up its first ever district superlative award as well as notching nine spots on the District 17-2A all-district volleyball team. Sophomore Alexis Gonzalez was named the district’s Offensive Player of the Year, the team’s first all-district superlative.

Alpha Mu Chi and Social Work celebrate First Generation Week

From November 7th through November 9th, Phi Theta Kappa partnered with Social Work to celebrate First-Generation students, faculty, and staff members at NTCC. Each day during the activity period, Alpha Mu Chi President Monserrat Rivero Sanchez facilitated a workshop in SUB 101 that featured critical skills and aspects to benefit first-generation students. Tuesday’s workshop was titled, “Resume Writing, Scholarships, and Interview Tips.” During the first workshop, chapter treasurer Michelle Calderon expanded on topics such as, what it means to be first-generation. Presenters Rivero Sanchez and Calderon covered the importance of resume and cover- letter writing, as well as applying to scholarships.
