The 2024 Northeast Texas Community College baseball schedule has been completed and includes a total of 55 games under head coach Andy Morgan. The schedule features 20 home dates (31 games) and 15 road dates (24 games). Of the 55 games, 30 are NJCAA Region 14 North Conference games, and 25 are non-conference games.

Chapel Hill’s basketball teams each got in two games over the Thanksgiving break to stay warm on the court, even as the temperature dropped locally. The 13th-ranked Red Devils traveled to Martins Mill for the annual Martins Mill Turkey Tussle, splitting their two games.

How does a team follow its most successful district finish? For Harts Bluff volleyball, the team picked up its first ever district superlative award as well as notching nine spots on the District 17-2A all-district volleyball team. Sophomore Alexis Gonzalez was named the district’s Offensive Player of the Year, the team’s first all-district superlative.

From November 7th through November 9th, Phi Theta Kappa partnered with Social Work to celebrate First-Generation students, faculty, and staff members at NTCC. Each day during the activity period, Alpha Mu Chi President Monserrat Rivero Sanchez facilitated a workshop in SUB 101 that featured critical skills and aspects to benefit first-generation students. Tuesday’s workshop was titled, “Resume Writing, Scholarships, and Interview Tips.” During the first workshop, chapter treasurer Michelle Calderon expanded on topics such as, what it means to be first-generation. Presenters Rivero Sanchez and Calderon covered the importance of resume and cover- letter writing, as well as applying to scholarships.

The Harts Bluff Lady Bulldogs spent their final games before Thanksgiving break on the road, starting with a trip to Avery and ending with games in Union Grove. The Lady Bulldogs had a balanced scoring attack in their 37-22 win at Avery.
