Tiger swim team makes splash at Whitehouse Christmas Relays

MPHS Swim ended the fall season with a Christmas themed, all relay meet at the Whitehouse Christmas Relays held at the East Texas Aquatics Pool in Tyler on Friday, December 8. Emelia Ethridge, Alessandro Greco, and Joseline Hernandez participated for MPHS in the following relay events: Santa Sleigh Relay, Shirt Exchange Dolphin Kick, Mixed Medley, Mixed Free, and The Santa Shoot Out. The team finished first in their heat in the Mixed Free.

McCraw wins sixth Dr. Charles B. Florio Leadership Award

For NTCC Honors Students, there are three major ways in which leadership not only benefits the recipient, but the whole honors experience. Students can lead in classroom erudition, scholarship, and in collective activities that provide services for the community and/or accolades for the larger group. Now in his second semester as an honors scholar, Luke McCrawhas won the 2023 Dr. Charles B. Florio Award, for his leadership in all three venues.

Mount Pleasant High School athletes named to Academic All-State football team

Thirteen Mount Pleasant High School football players and athletic trainers have been named to the Texas High School Coaches Association (TISCA) Academic All-State football teams. Nominees must be senior athletes, student trainers, or managers in good standing with the team and of good moral character and must have an overall GPA of at least 92.

DALLAS – Paris Beard was all blushed up, sporting a beaming glow before a Saturday matinee game. Makeup and basketball? Does that make sense? “I just feel like it’s part of my game,” Beard said, brandishing a smile that mirrors her basketball skills.

MPHS anglers close out fall season on Lake Tawakoni

The Mount Pleasant High School Bass Fishing Team finished the fall season at the Texas High School Bass Association (THSBA) tournament on Lake Tawakoni on Saturday, December 2. First for the Tigers, the team of Clayton Miller and Rolston Morton placed 19th out of 145 boats with 4 fish weighing 9.51 lbs.

MPHS JV1 Lady Tigers Bronze Champions in Royse City

The Mount Pleasant High School JV1 Lady Tigers were the Bronze Champions in the 11th annual Craig Bowers Memorial Basketball Tournament this weekend in Royse City. The JV division featured teams from Rockwall, Prestonwood, Kaufman, Legacy, Dunbar, Royse City, Greenville, Tyler and Richardson. The Lady Tigers were defeated in game 1 by Richardson but did not let that deter their focus as they went on to defeat Kaufman and Prestonwood. The JV team is coached by Crystal Jackson and Jessica Stanley.
